Review: Panache Jasmine Balconnet 32K

December 14, 2016

Hey everyone! I’m back for another review, this time of a more day to day bra: the Panache Jasmine! Today I’m reviewing the black animal print colorway in a 32K (UK) but from my experience, much like the Panache Sports, all of the colorways seem to run similar to identical in sizing. The Jasmine is a balconnet bra that comes in a variety of colorways, including new basic colors!

Sizing and fit

The Jasmine has a delightfully wide size range, available from 30-38 D-K (UK sizing) and is a 3 part sewn cup with stretch lace on the top section of the cup. *Just as an aside I’m reviewing from nearly the top of their size range so some of the fit issues I have will not be applicable in smaller cup sizes.* Okay so to begin, my favorite thing about the Jasmine is PROJECTION. There will be no squashing down to fit in a shallow cup here. The bra lifts and supports perfectly, with a very natural, rounded shape. Due to the stretch lace, this cut caters to a wide variety of shapes, although for women that have more tissue on the bottom of their breast they may end up getting a slight peak in this bra, so if you are picky about the shape you get in bras, definitely try it on before you buy it!

Now, my only complaint (and a relatively minor one at that) is that the underwires are a bit too wide for me in this size, although not as wide as some other bras I’ve tried. I’ve included a diagram to hopefully help clarify what I mean. This doesn’t affect the comfort of the bra! Also this bra has a very high central gore so if you have very close set breasts you may find this to be a bit uncomfortable but sometimes necessary.

Materials and Features

My favorite perk of this cut is the stretch lace! If you are in between cup sizes or have size changes during your cycle during the month this would be a great bra for you. Now I’m going to be honest, when I first tried this bra I was a little skeptical of the material, it felt a bit stiff and scratchy but that goes away the first time you wash it and is just starch in the material. After a wash I’ve had no issues with discomfort with the fabric and it is very supportive. For reference I do have very sensitive skin. The Jasmine features 3 sets of 3 hooks and the band is very supportive and true to size stretching to 32”.  As I usually find with Panache, construction is top notch with very flat, well-formed seams and no loose threads. As a more superficial feature I love the different prints the bra comes in from reserved, neutral florals to bright colors or patterns like the one I’m reviewing. It really is a great staple daily bra to have if it works for you!

Additional Comments

This bra is very accommodating for a variety of women! With the cold weather upon us it’s a great bra for layering and sweaters.  It’s very breathable without a bunch of extra padding to add bulk.  Seamed bras are easier to wear than you think!

Thank you for reading, and happy bra hunting!

Jasmine is currently available in a Rose Floral print, and newly released in solid black and nude.
